Six uncomfortable truths
There are six uncomfortable truths every Founder should embrace.
Once acknowledged and accepted, you will have a greater chance of long-term success:
Finding balance between your life’s work and life beyond work is essential to maintain perspective, decompress, renew and sustain.
You are responsible for your company's numbers. You should have a handle on the fundamentals at all times.
Take ownership of the Talent piece. Build an attractive culture by leading from the front. And when a hire doesn't work out, it's nobody's fault but yours. Own it.
If your target customer can't understand your value proposition in 10-20 seconds, you have work to do.
If you cannot sell, your business will die on its feet. Selling what you do is critical to securing business, attracting talent and wooing investors. If you can’t do it, find someone who can.
If you are not measuring something, you are probably not managing it. Create accountability for you and your team. You must measure what's important.
If any of these made you wince a bit, don’t worry, it’s never too late to address them.
